2010 Concerts in Madrid
Over the last few years Madrid has become a staple stop for bands on their European tours. And the outstanding line-up of concerts already booked for 2010 is a testament to just this. We here at MAP have done some digging and want to give you a heads-up so you can get a jump on concert tickets before they’re gone. Check out MAP’s Top 10 2010 concerts (so far) in Madrid. We’ve listed them in order of appearance:
1. The Raveonettes 2/3 – Sala Heineken: Always flying under the radar, this Danish duo has made some great music over the years and is on tour to support their latest effort, In and Out of Control.
2. Arctic Monkeys 2/5 – Palacio Vistalegre: These Brit-rockers have withstood flash-in-the-pan success and are proving that they’re one of the biggest draws in indie-rock today.
3. Dinosaur Jr. 2/10 – Sala Heineken: Since reforming in 2005 this well established alt-rock band has come back better than ever and is on tour after their most recent album release, Farm.
4. Vampire Weekend 2/28 – Teatro Circo Price: What more can you say other than these guys are hot; Billboard #1 hot, Pitchfork hot, VW has defined meteoric success since they began and with the release of their sophomore album, Contra, they’ve cemented themselves as a fixture in today’s music scene.
5. The Cranberries 3/12 – Palacio Vistalegre: One of the great alt-rock bands of the 90s has recently embarked on a Reunion tour and Madrid is lucky enough to be one of the stops.
6. Florence + The Machine 3/15 – Sala Heineken: The lovely Florence Welsh comes to Madrid on the heels of her incredible debut album, Lungs. With a voice and a stage presence as powerful as they come she’ll knock your socks off.

8. YACHT 4/9 – Sala Heineken: Don´t miss this chance to see the work of electro-pop master Jona Bechtolt whose show is part of the Heineken Music Selector series in Madrid.
9. Bear in Heaven 4/16 – Moby Dick: This should prove to be a good opportunity to catch a smaller show from a group riding a wave of recent critical acclaim.
10. The Very Best 4/22 – Sala Heineken: This is one of those mixes of music from around the world that just works and fueled by the multi-lingual singing of frontman Esau Mwamwaya this is a can´t miss show.
