Bacchus: An English-Language Bookstore and Coffeshop with language exchanges in Madrid, Free WIFI Internet
BACCHUS
Bookstore – Coffee – Bar
Calle Donoso Cortes, 58
Welcome to the best English-language bookstore and coffee bar in Madrid! Nestled in the Moncloa & Arguelles areas (the heart of Madrid’s student population), Bacchus is a chill international hangout where newcomers become instant regulars. In fact, we like to think of ourselves as the Cheers of Madrid.
Take your choice of a full selection of tea, cocktails, beer, or wine and slide into a chair or fall into one of our comfy sofas to play a game of chess, backgammon, or maybe just catch some football on the screen. If you’re feeling extra social, take a seat at the bar to meet a fun and friendly cast of regulars, all of whom tend to be English-speaking expats from all over the word – especially from the UK and USA.
But, if you just want to bring in your laptop and surf the Internet in a relaxing environment, feel free to use our wireless Internet service free of charge for as long as you like (with purchase of food or drink).
Our warm, terracotta-colored interior and cozy atmosphere is a great place to focus on writing emails back home, getting some classwork done, or reading your favorite online news.
If you’re not interested in socializing or navigating the Internet, you can browse our collection of over 2500 English-language books, buy a new one or trade/sell an old one. We have more than enough titles to keep you coming back for more!
On Tuesdays you can stop by or our jam-packed nights of language exchange, starting at around 8PM. The action really gets rolling around 9PM, when the place is hoppin’ with “internationals” from around the globe speaking English, Spanish, and a plethora of other languages.
BACCHUS is Madrid’s point of reference for newcomers in Madrid’s international community. Feel at home while meeting people from every corner of the globe. As we always say, “Come in for a book, stay for a beer.” We hope to meet you soon!
