As the weather heats-up so too do the well known night spots around Madrid, so head out this weekend to get your fix of late night revelry with MAP’s quick picks for the weekend.

Friday May 28^th

Soul Station takes us to Brazil with an evening of, well,  Brazilian beats. There’s no better time to work on your samba steps then now with SORRISO SACANA and DJ MARCAO . They’ll keep you up and grooving all night.

For a funk and soul inspired night pop in to Tempo Club as cover specialists Corn Fakes will take the stage ahead of German producer/DJ Tobias Kirmayer.

Saturday, May 29^th

Spanish rock on the agenda, then roll on out to the Wurlitzer Ballroom where Las Aspiradoras will be playing with a special guest. Click here for the venue review.

Another good bet for live local music is the fusion jams of Niño Pajaro over at La Boca del Lobo.

Calvin Harris at Low Club Madrid

Madrid´s LOW CLUB has another can´t miss night of electronic music lined up for you Saturday, February 20^th. Scottish superstar DJ and electro-pop sensation Calvin Harris will light it up.  Harris´ work as a producer, DJ and musician has exploded over the past few years and includes: collaborations with the likes of Kylie Minogue and Dizzee Rascal, multiple top 5 hits on the UK charts, and a recent BRIT nomination as the best male Solo artist.  His DJ set at LOW CLUB is sure to draw a huge crowd and is a must for all electronic music fans, for more info go here.

Weekend Parties in Madrid

Independance Club has got your weekend covered with back-to-back events this Thursday, Friday and Saturday (1/28-1/30).  Independance is one of Madrid’s best alternatives to the usual mix of pop, Spanish pop and electro that you find at most other late-night clubs.  This week they kick it off on Thursday with their “New Indie Night”, featuring a mix of DJs who will be throwing down the latest music in the indie-rock scene.  This is followed by Friday’s “Flower Power Party” that promises to bring back the spirit of the 60s and 70s, spinning the best music from that  period.  The weekend continues on Saturday with the “Arctic Monkeys Pre-Party”. Experience the music of the Arctic Monkeys before they make their way to Palacio Vistalegre on the 5th of February.

If you get there on Thursday before 2:30 a.m. two drinks are included in the 10 euros cover charge. If you arrive after 2:30 a.m. one drink is included with the cover. Don’t forget this is a late night spot so their doors don’t open until 12:00 a.m.  For more info check out their webpage.

Reggae Thursdays in Madrid

Looking to start your weekend a bit early, then Siroco has got you covered. Thursday night is reggae session night! Featuring live performances and DJ sets this could be the best way to get your head bopping on an otherwise uneventful evening in Madrid. Siroco is a well established venue in Madrid´s nightlife scene and with this new addition to its nightly music and DJ offerings they´ve added another way to please Madrid’s many party-goers. New Indie Night at Independance Club Madrid

Thursday is the new Indie night at the Independance Club! The night starts at 12 a.m  and shuts down just in time to catch the morning metro at 6 a.m. The collection of music spun by a handful of different djs will surely get you in the dancing mood. And if you’re one of the first one-hundred to arrive, you get a free t-shirt! For free entry send an e-mail with your full name to info@independanceclub.com. If you don’t e-mail, the entry fee is 10 euros from 12 a.m to 2:30 a.m and includes 2 drinks, or 10 euros for entry between 2:30 a.m – 6 a.m with one drink.
