City Space: The Final Frontier
So, here in Madrid, it has been a wacky week. First, politically rallying pigs overtook a bar in
Malasaña and now architectural anarchists are planning on over-run the
city. But don’t worry, both camps are
cool… uh, we think. Read on and figure
it out for yourself:
the MediaLab center in
ZOOM
invites you to the first “Hunting-Days” event (http://www.zoomarchitecture.fr/ )
your city as a virgin space and become a new kind of urban explorer. Every new
space or urban object will unlock uses of the city.
Wikibivouac project is aimed to construct and relay alternative practices
(habits) of urban territory that encourage unusual logics of space (generally
related to the property of space and the commercial principles which defines
it) through the possibilities that ‘networked-knowledge’ allow.
and your team will have 24h to gather data that will feed the Wikibivouac’s
collaborative map.
Saturday the 8th of March, 8.00am (GMT) and Sunday the 9th, 8.00am (GMT), spend
your time exploring your city in order to gather a list of places, spaces,
urban objects… Keep their position (street addresses or GPS coordinate),
write a short description and add them to the wikibivouac database. Each new
entry will be added in real time, and shared with all the users.
you are ready for a world wide collaborative experience, a tutorial video will
be available online in the beginning of the first hunting session. It will
explain to you the different aspect of the hunts but also how to enter your
data in the wikibivouac database.
rules and objectives of the “hunt” will be announced on March 7th at the end of
the day check the above website.
