Los Amigos Opera is Los Amgios Sol’s older sister. It offers all of the same amenities as the location in Sol with the exception of air conditioning, which is pretty crucial during the long, hot Madrid summers. However, the Opera location has a public washing machine, which is a nice touch for travelers staying a longer period of time.
In a slightly (and I mean very slightly) less central location than the Sol hostel, Los Amigos Opera is still in the historic center of Madrid, just seconds away from the Royal Theatre and a couple of minutes from the Royal Palace. It is also only a five minute walk from Sol. A nice plus to the Los Amigos Opera location is that it is on a small quiet street, while Los Amigos Sol is on a heavily trafficked street with a great deal of noisy nightlife. The Opera hostel is also larger and offers one double room, the rest are dormitories with shared bathrooms. Prices are the same as at the Sol hostel.
