Located in the same area as Cat’s Hostel, Mad Hostel is another happening youth hostel in Madrid’s historic center. The hostel is walking distance from most of Madrid’s tourist attractions and has excellent access to public transportation. And if you are staying the weekend, be sure to check out the Rastro, an enormous street market on Sunday mornings, which is only a five minute walk from the hostel.
Breakfast, bed linens and towels are included in the cost of the room. The hostel has 24 hour check in and the use of WIFI and the hostel’s computers is free. Mad also has a gorgeous interior patio for lounging, a pool table, a public kitchen, a gym, and a terrace/solarium that in the summer turns into an outdoor bar. And even more surprising is that the hostel has a flamenco tablao, where dancers and musicians are invited to perform from time to time. Rooms have beds for between two to six people, some with private bathrooms, and there are always male, female and coed rooms to choose from. Beds are between 20 and 24 euros per night.
