Jo Stromgren’s work is so odd that he’s had to form his own theatrical company to carry out his ideas on stage. Now for the first time in Madrid the Norwegian artist comes with “The Society”, a theater and dance hybrid that incorporates body language, tragic comedy, traditional Chinese music and tunes from The Doors. Not sure what all this entails? Let me clear it up by summarizing the plot: somewhere in central Europe, a group of caffeine fiend friends are shocked to find a used tea bag in their drinking spot and will stop at nothing to find who the tea drinking traitor is. The play, Stromgren promises, serves as a serious metaphor for today’s flawed society…we’ll just have to take his word for it.  The play will be on at the Sala Fernan Gomez from February 10th to the 14th with a price of 18 Euros (14 on Wednesday).
